Global Disaster Relief Team (GDRT) was founded by Alexander Smirnov, Olga Pavleyeva, and Alexander Zharov immediately following the recent escalation in Ukraine. The three team captains are Russian-speaking US citizens who immigrated to the USA from the former Soviet Union. With over 30 years of emergency medical response experience under their belts, Smirnov leads the team alongside Alexander Zharov, a first responder during 9/11 and a veteran of the Iraq War, and RN and MP Olga Pavleyeva.
